Life Happens — Here's How We Handle It

The Short Version

  • -30+ days out: Full refund. No questions asked.
  • -15-29 days out: 50% refund of nightly rate. Cleaning fee refunded in full.
  • -Under 15 days: No refund, but we may offer a credit toward a future stay.
  • -Hurricane/evacuation: Full refund for nights you can't stay.
  • -Need to change dates? We're happy to help when availability allows.

Standard Cancellation

We get it — plans change. Maybe the in-laws decided to visit that same weekend, maybe work threw a curveball, or maybe you just changed your mind. No judgment. Here's how cancellations work:

  • 30+ days before check-in: Full refund of the nightly rate. The cleaning fee is refunded in full. Easy.
  • 15-29 days before check-in: 50% refund of the nightly rate. The cleaning fee is refunded in full.
  • Less than 15 days before check-in: No refund. In some cases, we may offer a credit toward a future stay at our discretion — just ask.

Need to Change Your Dates?

Rather cancel entirely? We're happy to help you shift your dates when availability allows. Date changes are subject to any rate differences between the original and new dates — but no penalty fees for modifications.

To request a modification, email us at info@mbbeachrentals.com with your booking confirmation number and preferred new dates. We'll make it work if we can.

Hurricanes, Storms & Acts of Nature

If a mandatory evacuation order is issued for Isle of Palms or Awendaw by local, state, or federal authorities, you'll receive a full refund for any nights you're unable to stay due to the evacuation. No questions, no hassle.

For tropical storms or hurricanes that don't result in a mandatory evacuation, we'll work with you on a case-by-case basis. We want you to feel safe and comfortable, and we'll do our best to offer flexible options including date changes or partial credits. We're not going to hold your money hostage because a storm ruined your vacation — that's not how we operate.

How Refunds Work

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. The exact timing depends on your bank or credit card company — we process it on our end right away.

Important: If you booked through Airbnb or VRBO, the respective platform's cancellation policy applies instead of this one. This policy governs only direct bookings made through our website.

Leaving Early?

If you leave before your scheduled check-out date, no refund is issued for unused nights. But if something's wrong with the property — please tell us. We'd much rather fix the problem and have you enjoy your full vacation than have you leave unhappy.
